11/1 to 11/30 TACMED UKRAINE DIESEL SUPPORT PROJECT UPDATE
The Tullman Family Office renewed their support of diesel for TacMed Ukraine ambulances through January 2025. VM4U performs third-part donation verification using a system of real-time reporting and fuel card accounting. In November, TacMed Ukraine transported 272 patients using 6 ambulances. No VM4U donations were used.
11/1 to 11/30 ST. NICHOLAS PROJECT UPDATE
Pippa, Project Manager, is raising gifts and essentials for the displaced orphanages in our network, both in Austria and Ukraine. Gifts for specific kids can be purchased from the St. Nicholas Project Amazon gift registry. Pippa is supported by Filipp, Yuliia, Olga, and Nathan, together with the Vienna Family Network, British Embassy, and US Embassy. No VM4U donations will be used to buy gifts.
11/1 to 11/30 MUSIC PROGRAM UPDATE
Nadiia, Music Program Manager and Instructor, continues to return refugee children to their music training. The program has 4 instructors for 9 children, thanks to volunteer instructors Joel (Saxophone), Emin (Piano), Nadiia (Elementary music), and Rosa (Guitar). In October, Palvo received a donated guitar and instruction from Rosa; VM4U donations covering the cost of new guitar strings. The music program is a partnership with Kimu Wien (@kimu_wien) and Domivka. VM4U donations are used for instrument maintenance, instrument rental, and instruction materials.
11/1 to 11/30 TEAM VIENNA SUPPORT PROGRAM UPDATE
VM4U continues to support our partner organizations in Vienna, Poland, and Ukraine. VM4U has several ongoing projects with Operation Change and TacMed Ukraine and programs with Domivka and The Feel Good Store. This month included support for YOUkraine art exhibits, The Feel Good Store clothing distribution event, Unlimited Democracy’s film screening, Vienna Family Network’s supply of the Kogl Orphanage, and Rotary Club Vienna Maria Theresa Chapter’s Thanksgiving fundraiser for Kleine Herzen. VM4U continues to provide local support to YOUkraine, Matusya, Ptashka Art Project, Domivka, The Feel Good Store, Hela Flanko, and Unlimited Democracy.
11/1 to 11/30 VAN PROGRAM UPDATE
Nathan, Van Program Manager, continues to utilize the VM4U van to circulate donations, relocate refugees, support partner volunteer organizations, and deliver donated furniture in Vienna as well as deliver medical supplies and other aid to Ukraine. VM4U donations are used for fuel and maintenance.
11/1, 11/4, 11/6, 11/8, 11/13, 11/24, 11/30 FURNISHINGS PROGRAM UPDATE
Nathan, Furnishings Program Manager, continues to work with Olga, The Feel Good Store, to transfer furniture and appliances directly from donors to refugees on a regular basis using the VM4U van and Nathan’s van. Additionally, the VM4U van and volunteers have been assisting refugees with ‘Wilhaben’ furniture and large appliance purchases. The furnishings team, better known as the VM4U Crew, includes Pasha, Artem, Arkady, Anatolii, Jake, Jesse, Coach Oleksandr, Adam, Amir, and others, had 7 days of furniture deliveries this month. VM4U donations are used for van fuel.
11/1 VAN MISSION – KOGL ORPHANAGE SUPPORT
Michael and Eileen delivered Halloween gifts raised by the Vienna Family Network to the children at the Kogl Orphanage using the VM4U van.
11/4, 11/11, 11/18, 11/25 FOOTBALL PROGRAM TRAINING UPDATE
Coach Oleksandr, Football Program Manager, and Coach Sergii continue to host football training for children ages 6-11 on Monday nights from 17:30-19:00 in cooperation with Domivka. During winter, the training occurs at an indoor facility which is free of charge.
11/5 VAN MISSION – HOSTEL HUTTLEDORF SUPPORT CASE
Nathan helped relocate Tamila, mother with 8 children, with lots of luggage from Hostel Huttledorf (refugee center operated by Volkshilf) to a government sponsored dormitory operated by Volkshilf using his person vehicle. VM4U donations are used for vehicle fuel.
11/7, 11/11, and 11/13 VAN MISSIONS – YOUKRAINE SUPPORT
Nathan and Adam helped YOUkraine to transport art and supplies to the Ukrainian Embassy for an exhibition. VM4U donations were used for van fuel.
11/12 LUIDMILA SUPPORT CASE
Luidmila is 80 year old living near Dnipro who recently broke her hip. Working with Alona, Luidmila’s daughter living in Vienna, VM4U volunteers raised requested medical supplies for Luidmila, including crutches, which were delivered to Luidmila in Dnipro by Alona. Some medical supplies were sponsored by VM4U donations.
11/16 OPERATION CHANGE VAN REPAIR PROJECT UPDATE
Thanks to sponsorship from the Tullman Family Network, 16 new tires were purchased for 4 Operation Change vehicles. VM4U performs third party donation verification. No VM4U donations were used.
11/20 UNLIMTED DEMOCRACY FILM SCREENING
Adam represented VM4U at the Unlimited Democracy Film Screening of ‘Bucha’ at the Village Cinema Wien Mitte. Anna, Unlimited Democracy CEO, Viktor, film director, and Omar, US Mission to the OSCE, introduced the film ‘Bucha’. The film tells the story of a Kazakh volunteer who evacuated 200 people by driving through the front lines between Kyiv and Bucha in a sedan every day until the reoccupation. The film covers the real life stories of many of the people he could and could not evacuate.
11/26 KONSTANTINE RESCUE PROJECT
Konstantin is a 67 year old father who recently had a stroke who needed transportation from Dnipro to his family in Amsterdam. VM4U volunteers networked Konstantin’s family with an ambulance service in Ukraine. On 26 November, an ambulance departed with Konstantin from Dnipro, but very sadly, Konstantin passed away during transport. VM4U and Hela Flanka volunteers are working with the family to repatriate the deceased to Ukraine. VM4U donations were used to sponsor the transport.
11/26 VAN MISSION – HOSTEL HUTTLEDORF SUPPORT CASE
Nathan relocated Helana, mother with 3 small children with lots of luggage, from Hostel Huttledorf (refugee center operated by Volkshilf) to an apartment in town. VM4U donations are used for vehicle fuel.
11/28 ROTARY CLUB FUNDRAISER FOR KLEINE HERZEN
Michael represented VM4U at the Rotary Club Vienna Marie Theresa Section Thanksgiving Fundraiser. This year the fundraiser was supporting the Kleine Herzen organization, which supports the displaced Ukrainian orphanage in Burgenland. Last year VM4U and Kleine Herzen were the supported charities. Michael was able to share from his first person participation how the €3k raised for VM4U in 2023 was used to transport medical supplies from the US to Ukrainian hospitals and medics together with UAID-Direct and Partners for World Health.
11/28 to 11/29 VAN MISSION – THE FEEL GOOD STORE SUPPORT
Nathan supported The Feel Good Store’s ‘Flee Market for Ukrainian Women’ to occur from 11/30 to 12/1 from 11:00-17:00 at Siebertgasse 52, by transporting donated clothing and supplies using the VM4U van. VM4U donation were used for van fuel.
