3/4 DIABETIC ORPHANGS SUPPLY AND SUPPORT PROJECT
Oleg, Project Manager, has landed a grant from Tullman Family Office, with support from Frank, for a project to provide diabetic orphans in Ukraine with glucose monitors and education on modern diabetes management. The project involves the purchase of wearable monitors which can be read with a smart phone which tracks the child’s glucose levels in real time. This permits the timely administering of insulin prior to a person feeling unwell. If a child waits until they feel unwell to administer insulin, the child is already suffering irreversible kidney damage. These wearable monitors are used for 3 months with the goal of educating the child (and their caretaker) so that they can better understand and manage their medical condition and significantly increase their life expectancy.
3/4, 3/11, 3/18 FOOTBALL PROGRAM TRAINING
Coach Oleksandr, Football Program Manager, and Coach Sergii continue to host football training for children ages 6-11 on Monday nights from 17:30-19:00 in cooperation with Domivka. For February, the training occurs at an indoor facility which is free of charge.

Thanks to significant donations from the Tullman Family Office raised by Oleg (with a nod to Oleg’s diabetic supply activities) with 501c3 support from Anna, Jerry, Radu, and the Team at Elevate Ukraine, VM4U has been able to financially support the procurement of a cargo van for the UAID-Direct organization, which was finalized yesterday by volunteers in the UK. UAID-Direct raises and delivers aid throughout Ukraine leveraging their warehouses at Medyke and Kyiv, their van fleet, and international volunteer drivers and volunteer warehouse operators. This new van, ‘The Tullman Van’, is critical to the delivery of the 40 ft shipping container of medical supplies due to arrive in Ukraine in April as part of the UAID-Direct/VM4U/Rotary Club VMT Shipping Container Project.
