9/1 to 9/30 TACMED UKRAINE DIESEL SUPPORT PROJECT UPDATE

VM4U continues to administer donations from the Tullman Family Network for diesel for TacMed Ukraine ambulances. VM4U performs third-part donation verification using a system of real-time reporting and fuel card accounting. In September, TacMed Ukraine transported 490 patients using 6 ambulances with a maximum of 36 patients being transported in one day. TacMed Ukraine is projected to run out of diesel donations at the end of October. No VM4U donations were used.

9/1 to 9/30 ST. NICHOLAS PROJECT

Pippa, Project Manager, is heading up the St. Nicholas Project again this year to organize gifts and essentials for the orphanages in our network, both in Austria and Ukraine. Volunteer support from Filipp, Yuliia, Olga, and Nathan, and donation support from the Vienna Family Network, the British Embassy, and the US Embassy. No VM4U donations will be used to buy gifts. More on this project soon.

9/1 to 9/30 MUSIC PROGRAM UPDATE

Nadiia, Music Program Manager and Instructor, continues to return refugee children to their music training. The program has 4 instructors for 10 children, thanks to volunteer instructors Joel (Saxophone), Emin (Piano), Nadiia (Elementary music), and Rosa (Guitar). The music program is a partnership with Kimu Wien (@kimu_wien) and Domivka. VM4U donations are used for instrument maintenance, instrument rental, and instruction materials.

9/1 to 9/30 TEAM VIENNA SUPPORT PROGRAM UPDATE

VM4U continues to support our partner organizations in Vienna, Poland, and Ukraine. VM4U has several ongoing projects with Operation Change and TacMed Ukraine. VM4U provided local support to YOUkraine, Matusya, Ptashka Art Project, Domivka, The Feel Good Store, and Hela Flanko.

9/1 to 9/30 VAN PROGRAM UPDATE

Nathan, Van Program Manager, continues to utilize the VM4U van to circulate donations, relocate refugees, support partner volunteer organizations, and deliver donated furniture in Vienna as well as deliver medical supplies and other aid to Ukraine. VM4U donations are used for fuel and maintenance. next sports prosthetic. No VM4U donations were used.


9/2, 9/9, 9/16, 9/23, 9/30 FOOTBALL PROGRAM TRAINING UPDATE

Coach Oleksandr, Football Program Manager, and Coach Sergii continue to host football training for children ages 6-11 on Monday nights from 17:30-19:00 at the Sportscenter Donaucity in cooperation with Domivka. Field rental and equipment costs are covered by VM4U donations.

9/2 NATALIA SUPPORT CASE

Eileen and Nathan supported Natalia to place her 15 year old daughter in public school.

9/4, 9/11, 9/17, 9/21, 9/25 FURNISHINGS PROGRAM UPDATE

Nathan, Furnishings Program Manager, continues to work with Olga, The Feel Good Store, to transfer furniture and appliances directly from donors to refugees on a regular basis using the VM4U van and Nathan’s van. Additionally, the VM4U van and volunteers have been assisting refugees with ‘Wilhaben’ furniture and large appliance purchases. The furnishings team, better known as the VM4U Crew, includes Pasha, Artem, Arkady, Anatolii, Jake, Jesse, Coach Oleksandr, Adam, Amir, and others, had 5 days of furniture deliveries this month. VM4U donations are used for van fuel.

9/5 OPERATION CHANGE VAN REPAIR PROJECT UPDATE

VM4U continues to administer donations from the Tullman Family Network for the repair of Operation Change vans. On 9/5, major repairs were completed on the ‘Big Sprint’ van which has been in daily operation since.

9/5 HOSTEL HUTTLEDORF SUPPORT CASE

Nathan, driver, relocated Iryna and Oleksander (limited mobility) from Hostel Huttledorf (refugee center operated by Volkshilfe) to an apartment. VM4U donations are used for diesel.

9/11 HOSTEL HUTTLEDORF SUPPORT CASE

Jesse and Keonghee, drivers using their personal vehicles, and Nathan, driver using the VM4U van, relocated a large family of Olena (mother) and 6 children from Hostel Huttledorf (refugee center operated by Volkshilfe) to a government sponsored accommodation administered by ZeitRaum! VM4U donations are used for diesel.

9/20 JULIIA SUPPORT CASE UPDATE

Vladimir and Adam delivered to Juliia a cell phone and tablet, donated by PCs für alle, a cash donation from Frank, and a kitchen scale donated by Marie. Juliia will use the phone together with a newly installed insulin pump to best manager her T1 diabetes. Juliia eyes sight is currently so bad that she presses a magnifying glass together with her phone to her face to read it – the tablet will provide her a more usable device. The kitchen scale is for diabetes management at home. Juliia was in good spirits today, as always, and got to come home from the hospital. Jullia’s blown ear drum is improving but will need surgery. Juliia may also need eye surgery. She will have open heart surgery in December. She has dialysis 3 times per week. She was also diagnosed with Hep C requiring treatment (likely a biproduct of past dialysis). Right now Juliia and Oleksii have everything they need going forward.

9/21 NATHAN’S SUPPORT CASE

Nathan, driver, relocated a refugee who was changing apartments using the VM4U van. Donations were used for diesel.


9/23, 9/24 VAN MISSION – PTASHKA ART PROJECT SUPPORT

Nathan, driver, transported Ukrainian art in support of a Ukraine support fundraiser using the VM4U van. No VM4U donations were used.

9/25 OPERATION CHANGE VAN SUPPLY PROJECT UPDATE

VM4U continues to performs third-part donation verification for the Tullman Family Network sponsorship of a van for UAID-Direct. UAID-Direct was unable to be maintain and operate the van and the van has now been transferred to the Operation Change organization.

9/26 SVETLANA SUPPORT CASE

Nathan, Amir, and Adam helped Svetlana’s elderly father and aunt move to a new apartment using the VM4U van. Svetlana is in Vienna with her daughter, mother (with medical complications who sadly passed away in April), father, and aunt, and VM4U volunteers have been able to provide considerable support along the way. VM4U donations were used for diesel.

9/27 ANDREY’S SUPPORT CASE

Svetlana is in Vienna with her husband, son, and daughter, all from Vinnytsiia. The 11 yo daughter has cerebral palsy, is in a wheel chair, and had a metal plate in her hip which needed urgent medical attention. The medical services were originally performed in Vienna and after the family returned to Ukraine, they were unable to find a doctor who could remove the metal plate. So the family returned to Vienna and was initially placed in a government sponsored group home which was very overcrowded. Irmgard was able to provide a long term low rent accommodation for the family. Viktoriia attended the doctors appointments as a translator and helped the husband find a job. On 9/27, Nathan, Andrey, and Adam helped move the family into their own apartment and supplied some donated furniture using the VM4U van. Now the family is back on their feet and in their own place!


9/27 BOHDAN SUPPORT CASE UPDATE

Thanks to Dr. Liliana, Bohden will receive a cost free adaptor to his current prosthetic leg which will permit him to play football with Coach Olegsander and Coach Sergii’s Monday kids football group. The sports prosthetic arrived in Vienna this month but unfortunately Bohdan grew 15 cm since the time when he was measured. Dr. Liliana is restarting the effort and hopes for a more timely delivery of the

9/30 VAN MISSION – YOUKRAINE SUPPORT

Nathan transported art for the YOUkraine’s art fundraiser using the VM4U van as well as helped setup the event. VM4U donations were used for diesel.
