5/1 to 5/31 TACMED UKRAINE DIESEL SUPPORT PROJECT UPDATE
In May, TacMed Ukraine transported 412 patients using 12 medics, 4 drivers, 6 ambulances and 1 bus. No VM4U donations were used. The Tullman Family Office, with 501c3 support from Elevate Ukraine, continues their support of diesel for TacMed Ukraine ambulances through July 2025. VM4U performs third-part donation verification using a system of real-time reporting and fuel card accounting.
5/1 to 5/31 VAN PROGRAM UPDATE
Nathan, Van Program Manager, continues to utilize the VM4U van to circulate donations, relocate refugees, support partner volunteer organizations, and deliver donated furniture in Vienna as well as deliver medical supplies and other aid to Ukraine. Van Maintenance was performed including summer/winter tire exchange on 5/12, windshield repair on 5/14, and pre-inspection on 5/26. VM4U donations are used for fuel and maintenance.
5/1 to 5/31 MUSIC PROGRAM UPDATE
Nadiia, Music Program Manager and Instructor, continues to return refugee children to their music training. The program has 4 instructors for 9 children, thanks to volunteer instructors Joel (Saxophone), Emin (Piano), Nadiia (Elementary music), and Rosa (Guitar). The music program is a partnership with Kimu Wien (@kimu_wien) and Domivka. VM4U donations are used for instrument maintenance, instrument rental, and instruction materials.
5/1 to 5/31 OPERATION CHANGE VAN SUPPLY AND REPAIR PROJECTS UPDATE
In May, Operation Change transported 62 tons of aid using 7 transports from Sweden and their fleet of ‘last mile’ delivery vans including a van supplied by the Tullman Family Office, named BFF, and two vans repaired by the Tullman Family Network, named BigSprint and HorseBox. This brings the 2025 totals for Operation Change to 387 tons of aid delivered using 39 transports from Sweden. No VM4U donations were used.
5/1, 5/16, 5/17, 5/19, 5/21, 5/24, 5/27, 5/28 FURNISHINGS PROGRAM UPDATE
Nathan, Furnishings Program Manager, continues to work with Olga, The Feel Good Store, to transfer furniture and appliances directly from donors to refugees on a regular basis using the VM4U van and Nathan’s van. The furnishings team, better known as the VM4U Crew, includes Pasha, Artem, Arkady, Anatolii, Jake, Jesse, Coach Oleksandr, Amir, Dima, Oleksii, and others. VM4U donations are used for van fuel.
5/2, 5/5 to 5/7 VAN MISSION – HELA FLANKO/PC FUER ALLE/VOLUNTEER ACTION SUPPORT
Nathan, using the VM4U van, transported (1) laptops, A/V accessories, projectors, and big screens raised by PC Für Alle for Volunteer Action’s Phoenix Shelter outside Lviv, and (2) medical supplies raised by Hela Flanko from Vienna to a Rehabilitation Center – Warmth of the Winged Soul outside of Ivano Frankivsk. VM4U donations were used for diesel and tolls.
5/5, 5/12, 5/19, 5/26 FOOTBALL PROGRAM TRAINING UPDATE
Coach Oleksandr, Football Program Manager, and Coach Sergii continue to host football training for children ages 7-12 on Monday nights from 17:30-19:00 at the Sport Center Donau City in cooperation with Domivka. VM4U donations are used to pay for field rental.
5/7 VLADIMIR SUPPORT CASE
Vladimir, father of Dima, passed away this month. Vladimir was diagnosed with cancer very late. Florian transported Vladimir on 20 July 2024 from Kyiv to Vienna so he could be together with his son and family. Services for Vladimir were held on 5/15.
5/14 VAN MISSION – REFUGEE SUPPORT CASE
Nathan, using his private vehicle, transported a women and her personal belongings from the train station to her place. No VM4U donations were used.
5/14 MEETING – EUROPEAN COMMISSION DELEGATION
A European Commission Delegation requested a meeting with VM4U to inquire about the state of refugee support in Austria. Roxy, VM4U Psychological Support Program Manager, led a VM4U team which answered the EC representative’s questions from VM4U’s Austrian, Ukrainian, and International prospective (without financial or political influence).
5/15 JOURNALISM PROGRAM INITIATED
Ryan, Journalism Program Manager, together with Ava, are working to stand up a unique communications arm of VM4U. The Program goals are under development. Stay tuned!
5/25 VAN MISSION – THE FEEL GOOD STORE SUPPORT
Nathan, using the VM4U van, supported the The Feel Good Store by transporting supplies in support of the Ukrainian Chestnut Run, an annual Ukrainian cultural event and fundraiser. VM4U donations were used for van diesel.
5/26 MEETING – UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA (USA) STUDENT DELEGATION
Roxy, VM4U Psychological Support Program Manager, organized an afternoon of presentations and interaction between the students, the VM4U Volunteers, and representatives from the Ukrainian Community. Presentations were given by Adam, VM4U Donor Relations/Accountant; Nadiia, Music Program Manager; Dima, veteran Ukrainian Combat Medic and Refugee; Sophie, Project Manager; Inga, Psychological Councilor and Refugee; Nathan, Executive Director. The lectures were followed by the student’s joining the Monday Children’s Football practice with Coach Oleksander, Football Program Manager; and Sergei, Football Coach.
5/27 VAN MISSION – HOSTEL HUTTLEDORF SUPPORT
Keonghee, using her private vehicle, relocated a Liudmyla and Ihor, who is fighting cancer, and their belongings from Hostel Huttledorf (Vienna Refugee Center operated by Volkshilfe) to their accommodating in Baden. No VM4U donations were used, operating costs were donated by Keonghee.
