2/1 to 2/28 TACMED UKRAINE DIESEL SUPPORT PROJECT UPDATE
In February, TacMed Ukraine transported 246 patients. The Tullman Family Office, with 501c3 support from Elevate Ukraine, continues their support of diesel for TacMed Ukraine ambulances. VM4U performs third-part donation verification using a system of real-time reporting and fuel card accounting. No VM4U donations were used.
2/1 to 2/28 OPERATION CHANGE DIESEL SUPPORT PROJECT UPDATE
Operation Change (OC) delivered 37.3 tons of aid, sourced primarily in Sweden, to primarily eastern Ukraine. Tullman Family Office, with 501c3 support from Elevate Ukraine, continues their support of diesel for Operation Change cargo vans and trucks. VM4U performs third-part donation verification using a system of real-time reporting and accounting. No VM4U donations were used.
2/1 to 2/28 VAN PROGRAM UPDATE
Nathan, Van Program Manager, continues to utilize the VM4U van to circulate donations, relocate refugees, support partner volunteer organizations, and deliver donated furniture in Vienna as well as deliver medical supplies and other aid to Ukraine. Major maintenance was performed on 2/16 – 2/26 to prepare the VM4U van for an upcoming month of duty in Ukraine. Donations from Andy, Operation Change, Elevate Ukraine, and VM4U covered the cost of repairs.
2/1 to 2/28 MUSIC PROGRAM UPDATE
Nadiia, Music Program Manager and Instructor, continues to return refugee children to their music training. The program has 4 instructors for 9 children, thanks to volunteer instructors Joel (Saxophone), Emin (Piano), Nadiia (Elementary music), and Rosa (Guitar). The music program is a partnership with Kimu Wien (@kimu_wien) and Domivka. VM4U donations are used for instrument maintenance, instrument rental, and instruction materials.
2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 2/23 FOOTBALL PROGRAM TRAINING UPDATE
Coach Oleksandr, Football Program Manager, and Coach Sergii continue to host football training for children ages 11-13 on Monday nights from 17:30-19:00 in cooperation with Domivka. Training has been moved to a cost-free indoor gymnasium for the winter. No VM4U donations are used.
2/4, 2/25 FURNISHINGS PROGRAM UPDATE
Nathan, Furnishings Program Manager, continues to work with Olga, The Feel Good Store, to transfer furniture and appliances directly from donors to refugees on a regular basis using the VM4U van and Nathan’s van. The furnishings team, better known as the VM4U Crew, includes Pasha, Artem, Arkady, Anatolii, Jake, Jesse, Coach Oleksandr, Amir, Dima, Oleksii, and others. VM4U donations are used for van fuel.
2/4 VAN MISSION – CARITAS SUPPORT, HELA FLANKO SUPPORT
Nathan, using the VM4U van, circulated donations from Caritas and local pharmacies to Hela Flanko. VM4U donations were used for van fuel.
2/5 VAN MISSION – NATALYA SUPPORT CASE
Nathan, using the VM4U van, helped Natalya and daughter from Kyiv with two cats move between government sponsor accommodations. VM4U donations were used for fuel.
2/9 VAN MISSION – TATIANA SUPPORT CASE
Nathan, using his private vehicle, helped Tatiana move between accommodations. VM4U donations were used for fuel.
2/14 MEETING – MISNEACH
Misneach, based in Dublin, Ireland, is a large-scale donation collection and distribution NGO focused on raising €280k of aid per month in rehabilitation equipment and medical supplies in Ireland for downstream distribution in Ukraine by partner NGOs, including Roxolani Trust and Operation Change. Unfortunately, Misneach has suspended their operation in February following the departure of their primary donor which covered salaries and operating costs.
2/15-2/16 VAN MISSION – BIKES FOR UKRAINE/INSULIN FOR LIFE SUPPORT – LVIV
Tassillo and Adrian, using the VM4U van, collected 35 bicycles raised by Bikes for Ukraine NGO, in Prague and delivered them to an aid distribution center in Lviv together with Oleg’s diabetic supplies donated by Insulin for Life and delivered our doctor at a Neurology Hospital in Lviv for further distribution in Ukraine. Fuel, tolls, vignettes, and driver lodging was sponsored by Tassilo; no VM4U donations were used.
2/26 MILA SUPPORT CASE
Nathan, using his private vehicle, helped Mila from Kyiv move between accommodations. VM4U donations were used for fuel.
2/26 VAN MISSION – HOSTEL HUTTELDORF SUPPORT
Jesse, using his private vehicle, relocated Svetlana and Arpina from Hostel Huttledorf (Vienna Refugee Center operated by Volkshilfe) to a government sponsored accommodation in Vienna. Fuel was sponsored by Jesse; no VM4U donations were used.
2/27-2/28 ELENA SUPPORT CASE
Nathan, using the VM4U van, helped Elena from Kyiv move between accommodations. VM4U donations were used for fuel.
